Pillar adds exceptional value by functioning much like having your own personal CFO (Chief Financial Officer) to coordinate the efforts of a team of financial professionals working together in your behalf. No more worries about making sure your Investment Manager is familiar with your estate plan and coordinating efforts to maximize After-Tax returns with your accountant. Pillar takes the lead in harmonizing the work of these professionals - so that no one is working in a vaccuum. Compared to Investment Managers who ONLY manage your money - its just a better, more consultative approach for reaching your family's goals and freeing you from the need to worry.
Pillar Capital (Pillar Capital) is an independant, fee-only Registered Investment Advisor (RIA). Why is that important? Because we don’t make any money for “selling” a product – we make a professional fee based on account size (see fees page). Serving our client's best interests is our top priority - and have a much higher fiduciary obligation than does a broker.
Pillar is a Dimensional Fund Advisors (DFA) approved investment advisor based in Utah. We have access to an enormous variety of investment products available at TD Ameritrade Institutional. Pillar uses low cost DFA funds, ETF’s, and fixed income instruments depending on client needs. DFA funds are only available through fee-only registered investment advisors who have gone through a rigorous due-diligence and education and have subsequently been approved to use their funds.
Pillar Capital primarily uses TD Ameritrade Institutional (TDAI) as custodian for client accounts. Pillar has chosen TDAI because they have the lowest aggregate trading and custody costs for clients with a wide variety of products and excellent client service. Transaction fees are generally $24 for mutual fund trades, or $10 for stock or ETF trades with no junk fees found at other institutions.
